Student Ambassador Progam

Student Ambassadors are an elite group of students that are the "Face" of Allen at admissions visitation days, tours, move-in day, senior day, and welcome week activities. The Student Ambassador program enlists volunteer leadership support from students interested in developing prospective students' sense of belonging and connectedness to the Allen community by acting as liaisons between Allen and prospective and current students and the families, guest, alumni, and friends of Allen. They are selected for their demonstration of leadership, campus involvement, academic achievement, and Allen pride.

Benefits of the Ambassador Program:

  • Expands your communication, leadership, and public relations skills.
  • Provides you with the opportunity to meet with new people.
  • Enables you to work as a team with your peers and make new friends.
  • Provides you with the opportunity to share your knowledge of the college with prospective students and members of the community
  • Excellent acitivity to include on a resume.
  • Exposure to higher education as a possible career choice.
  • Receive a free Allen Ambassador jacket and shirt.

Duties of an Ambassador:

  • Provide a minimum of 10 hours of service each semester and participate in all admissions' visitation days (Senior Day, College Fair, etc) .
  • Conduct tours of the campus for prospective students and their families, guest, alumni, and friends of the Allen.
  • Participate in social, cultural, marketing, and fundraising activities for the Allen.
  • Represent the college at community and recruitment events.
  • Assist the admissions office with mailings.

Eligibility:

  • Must have and maintain a minimum of 2.5 GPA.
  • Must be a full-time student.
  • Must live on campus or with family within commutable distance.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Be punctual, prepared, enthusiastic, responsible, and flexible.
