Online Learning

Accreditation

Allen Community College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a commission of the North Central Association and the Kansas Board of Regents. To be considered for online accreditation, programs must have at least 50 percent of their required courses available in the online environment.

The Higher Learning Commission conducted an onsite visit to Allen on October 9-10, 2011, to evaluate its change application request to offer associate degrees through distance delivery courses. The site visit team submitted its report in December, recommending approval of the request. Allen received official notification from HLC of the approval on February 22, 2012.

Allen received approval to offer all AA,AS, AGS, and AAS degrees online. Some popular programs are Allied Health, Addictions Counseling, Criminal Justice, and Early Childhood Education. Certificate programs are also available.
