ACTIVITIES BUILDING

Lovingly called Big Red or the Red Barn, the Activities Building is a popular building on campus. It is home to the Fitness Center, the Dance Squad practice room, and a large Activities Area. Designed as a multipurpose facility, a wide variety of activities take place here. It underwent a major remodeling in 2001 to meet the changing needs of the college and community.

The Fitness Center is a place where students, staff, and the general public can come and work out. ACCC athletes are required to take conditioning courses, and this center fulfills that need excellently. Its large selection of weightlifting and exercise equipment can tone and strengthen the entire body.

The Dance Practice Room is used by the ACCC Dance students and is also a great place for aerobic workouts. It consists of a wood floor with a foam rubber backing, to aleviate undue stress on the feet and ankles. One whole wall is mirrored, so students can see how their movements compare with the rest of the class.

The Activities Area is full gymnasium-sized space with a concrete floor. A variety of sports and activities can be played here, including basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, and shuffleboard. Equipment is available to enable ACCC athletes to practice baseball, softball, soccer, and track in an indoor setting during inclement weather.
