General Institution Information
As an institution of higher education, the purpose of Allen County Community College is to provide quality educational and support services in an atmosphere that is caring, safe, and conducive to learning. Based on the belief that learning and self-improvement are continuous processes, the college is committed to a wide range of affordable educational programs to enable all students to reach their academic, occupational, and personal potential.

Below are average figures to help you compare the cost of attendance. The actual cost of attendance amounts can vary from student to student depending on your personal situation. These estimates are for an average student who will be enrolled full-time in the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 terms for full time and half time.
The estimated cost of attendance is NOT the amount a student will pay to Allen Community College for a year. It sets the maximum amount of financial aid a student is eligible to receive during the year.

Athletic Related Aid Disclosures
Campus Security and Crime Statistics
Statistics and policy information on campus crimes are posted in compliance with the Student Right to Know and the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990. The law requires institutions of higher education to publish statistics of the number of crimes and other violations of the law that are committed on campus property.
Drug-Free Statement
Drug-Free Statement
It is the intent of the Board of Trustees and Allen Community College that all students are in a drug and alcohol-free environment. This policy applies to all classes, campus facilities, residence halls, and college-sponsored functions, both on and offsite. The unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispersing, possession, or use of a controlled substance or alcohol is prohibited. Violation of this policy is outlined in the Federal Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act of 1989, Public Law 101-226, CFR Part 86 subparts A and B.
Students are warned that the illicit use of drugs and alcohol in the aforementioned areas:
- May do severe and irreparable harm to their health.
- Violates college, local, state and federal policies.
- Will cause the College to respond to an incident by:
- Counseling, treatment or rehabilitation program referral, or
- Suspension, expulsion and/or dismissal, or
- Referral to appropriate authorities for prosecution, or
- Any combination of the above.
Degree Programs, Training, and Other Educational Offerings
Allen offers a variety of educational opportunities including individual courses, certificate programs and Associate degrees in a wide range of subjects. Information about our educational programs is published in our catalog, schedule of classes, and through our website.
Financial Aid Information
Allen has financial aid programs to assist students in overcoming the economic problems associated with college attendance. The Office of Student Financial Aid is especially concerned with students who need financial assistance to attend Allen County Community College.

Student Records
Educational records are maintained by the Registrar’s Office. In accordance with College policy and state and federal regulations, student records are maintained in a manner that protects the privacy of students and provides eligible students access to student information (FERPA).
FERPA
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (PL 93-380) includes provisions that protect the privacy of students. These include: 1) The right to inspect and review their education records within 45 days of the day the college receives a request for access. 2) The right to request the amendment of their education records that they believe is inaccurate. 3) The right to consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information contained in their education record, except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent. An exception is disclosure to school officials within the college who have a legitimate educational interest.
Public Directory Information
One provision of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act requires educational institutions to allow students who are currently enrolled to suppress certain information regarded as "Directory Information". Allen defines directory information as name, address, telephone number, dates of attendance, year in school, previous institution(s) attended, major field of study, awards, honors, degrees earned, past and present participation in officially recognized sports and activities, physical factors (height, weight of athletes), date of birth.
Under provisions of the 1996 Solomon Amendment, Allen Community College is required to release, upon request, directory information to recruiters of the United States Military.
Students who wish to opt out of directory information should contact the Registrar’s Office.
Academic Honesty
Students at Allen Community College practice academic honesty. Academic honesty is the concept that students conduct themselves with integrity. Allen students show their understanding of academic honesty and act with integrity by following the Academic Honesty Policy.
Transfer of Credit Policy
Allen Community College will accept transfer credits to be applied toward a degree. Fifteen credit hours applied toward graduation must be taken at Allen.
External and transfer credit would include credit for prior learning and hours transferred from other accredited institutions. Grades are also transferred from accredited institutions and are calculated in the cumulative grade point average. Three hundred level courses and above (300+) cannot be applied as transfer credit toward a degree or certificate at Allen.
Voter Registration Information
Vaccination Policy
Allen Community College does not require vaccinations for student enrollment. For residence hall students, a meningitis vaccination documentation or waiver is needed in order to live on campus. (See Residence Hall Handbook for more information.)

Students withdrawing from a class which is scheduled during a sixteen week semester will receive the following refund of tuition and fees: 0-15 calendar days 100% Students withdrawing from a class which is scheduled during an eight week session will receive the following refund of tuition and fees: 0-8 calendar days 100% Students withdrawing from a class which lasts less than eight weeks will receive the following refund of tuition and fees: 0-2 calendar day 100% |
