Pre-Social Work

The Pre-Social Work Associate Degree program provides students with a foundational understanding of the principles, theories, and practices central to the field of social work. This program is designed for individuals intending to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) or a related discipline.

Through a combination of general education courses and major-specific curriculum, students will examine topics such as human behavior, social institutions, cultural diversity, communication, and ethics. Emphasis is placed on developing critical thinking, cultural competence, and an understanding of social systems that influence individuals, families, and communities.

Graduates of the program will be equipped with the academic preparation necessary for continued study and eventual employment in a variety of social service settings, including community agencies, healthcare institutions, educational environments, and non-profit organizations.
