High Schools

If you are currently a freshman with a gifted I.E.P., sophomore, junior, or senior who have not yet graduated, you are welcome to take classes at Allen.

Please remember these are college-level courses, so please make sure you are motivated and prepared to take courses at this level as you will be treated like all other college students while taking the course.

Kansas defines secondary enrollment into two distinct ways:

1. Concurrent:  a college course that is taught at a high school, by a college approved high school teacher during the normal school day.  These courses typically are accepted by the high school as satisfying specific high school requirements.
2. Dual Credit:  a college course that is taken by a high school student during the high school day or after (which includes online), but is taught by an approved college instructor.  These courses typically are accepted by the high school as satisfying specific high school requirements, but may be in addition to high school requirements for students working to get ahead in their college career.

Paying For Classes (If not covered by the Excel in CTE Program)

1. To determine how much you owe, follow these steps:
   1. Go to https://my.allencc.edu
   2. Login (your username is your student ID number and the password is the first four letters of your last name and the last four numbers of your social security number (ie: smit1234). >>Finance Tab>>Course and Fee Statement
2. Your balance may be paid upon enrollment. The full balance is due by the set due date. Students who have not paid or made payment arrangements will be withdrawn.
3. You may pay for your courses by:
   1. Paying online by going to this secure link
   2. Paying by phone by calling either 620-901-6295 or 785-369-8705
   3. Paying in person by visiting the Business Office during office hours at either Campus
   4. Paying by Mail: Allen Community College Attn: Business Office 1801 N. Cottonwood St.  Iola, KS 66749

4. Scholarship Application – Complete this application for institutional academic scholarships. You must be enrolled in 12 credit hours at the start of the semester to be eligible. Academic scholarship eligibility is based off of your GPA. 
5. Requesting Textbooks: The textbook request form is found on the MyAllen Portal on the Enrollment tab. You will see a box labeled "Step 4: How to get your textbooks" and a link to the form labeled "Textbook Mail Order Form". Watch this how to video.  Payment must be made, if required, before book is mailed (some CTE courses have no fee).
