Bookstore

Students who live on campus or are able to come to either campus may pick up textbooks at the bookstore. Students must have a Business Office clearance sheet and a current student ID to get textbooks.

Students who are not able to come to campus can request to have textbooks mailed. Textbooks are not mailed automatically, but there is no additional charge to have them mailed within the continental United States. Students who need textbooks mailed internationally will need to pay the cost of shipping.  

The textbook request form is found on the MyAllen Portal on the Enrollment tab. You will see a box labeled "Step 4: How to get your textbooks" and a link to the form labeled "Textbook Mail Order Form". Watch this how to video. 

All rental textbooks are to be returned to the Allen Bookstore by the Monday after finals.  Students can return textbooks to either campus in person or by mail. To return rental textbooks, students must have their textbook rental receipt with their name and student ID number. For books being mailed back, the bookstore has provided a UPS return label inside each box of textbooks.  If the return label is lost, please mail textbooks back to either of the addresses below:

To get rental textbooks cleared from student accounts, students must have their textbook rental receipt with their name and student ID number.  If the student does not provide the textbook rental receipt with their name and student ID number they will be charged on their student account a value equal to the replacement cost of each rental textbook. Students are responsible for the return and condition of all rental textbooks checked out to them. Textbooks must be returned in the same condition in which they are rented.  Textbooks damaged by water, animal (example: chewing), stains, tears, or missing pages cannot be returned.  The bookstore reserves the right to refuse any rental textbook returned due to the condition of the book.

A hold will be placed on a student’s account if textbooks are not returned within three business days following finals.

Students not returning rental textbooks within 10 business days following finals will be charged on their student accounts a value equal to the replacement cost of each rental textbook still in their possession.

Textbooks must be returned and account cleared prior to checking out textbooks for future semesters.

The receipt is required for all returns.

To return merchandise purchased at the Allen Bookstore, please return the product with the original sales receipt and tag.

Books must be returned in the same condition as when they were purchased.  Shrink-wrapped books cannot be opened.

Clothing must be returned with the original sales receipt, hang tags, and unworn.
