Advisors are here to help you create and maintain an educational plan, enroll in courses, degree planning, goal setting, scholarships & aid, resources, and more. Your advisor can answer questions, like “Which program is right for me?” “What classes should I take?” and “Where can I get help if I need it?”.
It is not required that you meet with your advisor prior to getting enrolled, but it is highly recommended. Your advisor will work with you to make sure you stay on track for your specific degree or certificate.
You’re welcome to continue working with advisors and faculty who have helped you in the past. However, it’s still a good idea to contact and get to know your advisor. Your personal “go-to guide” can be another great resource to help you navigate college and answer questions about courses or programs.
